The project is called Beat it now and will also harness the power of artificial intelligence. It is one of the most aggressive tumors, difficult to treat and to diagnose early. On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the Rotary Club Torino Lagrange, together with the Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research - Candiolo, presents “Beat It Now”, a scientific research and international cooperation project dedicated to the fight against pancreatic cancer. Founded in 2015 by a group of young entrepreneurs, managers, and professionals from Turin, the Rotary Club Torino Lagrange has distinguished itself for its innovative approach and for a vision of service based on concreteness, networking, and responsibility. In these ten years, the Club has carried out ten significant projects, which have left a tangible mark on local communities and on the personal growth of its members. “Today – in the year of our tenth anniversary – we felt the need to look beyond, to raise the bar and change perspective,” explains Jonathan Bessone, President of Rotary Club Torino Lagrange. “No longer just one project among many, but a unique project, capable of transforming the future and leaving an indelible mark.” From this reflection comes “Beat It Now”, an international service initiative developed in partnership with the Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research - Candiolo, a collaboration that has accompanied Rotary Torino Lagrange since its inception. The project aims to create the largest global database of diagnostic data on pancreatic cancer, involving an international network of research centers and the worldwide Rotary network. The goal is to develop early diagnosis strategies, prevention, and treatment also through the use of advanced artificial intelligence technologies. The ten-year duration of “Beat It Now” represents an extraordinary feature in the landscape of scientific projects, symbolizing a long-term vision and a continuous commitment, perfectly in line with the Rotary values of perseverance and building the future. “In Rotary, every project is an act of service. For ten years we have put our skills, our time, and our energy at the service of people and communities. With Beat It Now we want to take a step further: to transform our local service into a global commitment,” declares Jonathan Bessone, President of Rotary Club Torino Lagrange. “Beat It Now perfectly represents the spirit with which the Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research has operated for almost forty years: uniting the forces, skills, and generosity of those who believe in research to turn hope into concrete results. The collaboration with Rotary Club Torino Lagrange, which has lasted for years and is now renewed with a project of international scope, demonstrates how solidarity and science can walk together towards a common goal: that of defeating cancer. It is thanks to initiatives like this that we can look to the future with confidence, aware that every step forward in research is a step forward for everyone,” declares Allegra Agnelli, President of the Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research - Candiolo.
